Thousands Pay Tribute To Slain Opposition Leader In Russia


  • People waited in lines that stretched hundreds of meters on Tuesday to pay respects to Kremlin critic Boris Nemtsov, who was shot to death in Moscow on Friday.
  • Many Russians waiting to attend a memorial service carried red carnations.
  • Nemtsov was considered one of the most prominent of Russia’s opposition leaders and critics of President Vladimir Putin.
  • U.S. Ambassador John Tefft, former prime minister Mikhail Kasyanov, and other dignitaries attended.
